Kila Kirby

Hi! I’ve been really lucky to grow up in a community where performing and creativity is encouraged and supported. I’ve had music and dance around me all my life. I’ve been an active member of Bardic Theatre in Donaghmore performing lead and ensemble roles in musical theatre productions including Matilda, Mary Poppins and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. I have achieved Advanced 1 Tap, Advanced Foundation Modern and Intermediate Ballet standard with the British Theatre Dance Association at the JLM Dance School. I also got the opportunity to dance in Disneyland Paris as a part of an ensemble dancer parade. In 2020 and 2021, I represented Northern Ireland at the Dance World Cup in solo song and dance and tap categories and a tap troupe as well which placed third overall.
I have represented my local GAA club in Scór na nÓg Ballad singing competitions, reaching the county final in 2019.
I play Gaelic football for my local club in Donaghmore and played for the Co. Tyrone U16 team. On-screen credits include a Drink & Drug Awareness campaign for PSNI…but hope to add to that soon! In my gap year, I completed a Short Film course as a part of the Cinemagic Creative Digital Technologies Academy and got accepted to the BFI Documentary Academy for 2023 allowing me the opportunity to go to London for a week and film. I throughly enjoyed both courses and as of September 2023, I will be studying Broadcast Production at Queen’s University Belfast.
