Rwanda Shaw

Hi my name is Rwanda Shaw, I’m 25 years old and from Northern Ireland. I’m a singer, recording artist, actress and children’s entertainer. I’m also interested in fashion, beauty and modelling.
I’ve always known that singing and entertaining is where I belong. I began my journey into singing in primary school, I closely studied my favourite musicians, then progressed to joining the choir at age 8 to singing at every school event along the way. I then went on to take singing lessons in Lisburn School of Music where I was taught by Shauna Tohill and Dana Masters.
In school I was always interested in drama and anything creative, so I joined after-school clubs and took part in plays and concerts. I was lucky to have worked with ACSONI (African and Caribbean Support Organisation) on numerous musical projects after leaving school, with them I was asked to be part of a play called The Tempest, which was dedicated to Shakespeare’s 400th death anniversary and was held in T13 in 2016 written by Andrea Montgomery from Terra Nova Productions.

Performance Training
I have worked with Terra Nova productions and practiced with them over the space of a few weeks for a performance in T13. Myself and a few guys working with ACSONI wrote and recorded songs for the play.
I work with REAL Princesses NI, meaning I have worked with people of all ages as well as children with special needs. Working here means I have to stick strictly to the character I am and never break focus. I did research on how to speak, act, sing and everything about the character.
